Where the cable car departs and what makes it famous

The station you need is An Thới (An Thoi) in Sunset Town, in southern Phu Quoc. Do not confuse it with the seaport: for the cable car trip, you specifically need the Sun World passenger terminal. First arrive here, then cross the sea to Hòn Thơm (Hon Thom).

Guinness records it as the longest non-stop three-rope cable car: 7,899.9 metres. The cabins offer views of the southern archipelago’s islets and fishing boats. Calculate the whole outing including queues, ticket checks and walking, not just the cabin ride.

Opening hours and returning from the island

On the checking date, 14 October 2026, the Sun World Hon Thom homepage shows overall hours of 09:30-17:00 and warns of possible changes. This is a guide to the complex’s operation, not confirmation that the cable car and every ride run continuously.

The previously published timetable of 09:00-11:30 and 13:30-17:00 cannot automatically be applied to every date. Before travelling, check operating intervals in both directions, last boarding time and when your chosen zones close. Photograph the timetable at the entrance.

Allow extra time to change and queue for the return. It is useful to set a reminder to return to the station, based on the current timetable. Do not arrive just before the last cabin expecting boarding to remain open until the final minute.

What to look for in the ticket inclusions

Compare offers by their inclusions: return travel, Aquatopia, the Exotica dry-land zone, meals and extras in Sunset Town. Sun World offers combined packages, but the name “cable car” alone does not confirm every item.

Check Kiss Bridge admission, permitted entry time, a coupon drink and the beach transfer separately. Do not assume evening shows are automatically included. A child ticket depends on the child’s height and the category boundaries in your chosen offer. Save the QR code and the description of the package you paid for.

Prices: comparing options without unexpected extras

Check the selected ticket listing for your date and group composition. Compare the basic package with the buffet option: the difference may sometimes be more convenient than buying food separately, but only if you can reach the restaurant during lunch service.

Aquatopia and Exotica: things to do

Aquatopia is a water park with more than twenty water attractions, including family and more active options. Choose several suitable slides, leaving breaks between queues. Access is determined by each attraction’s rules, not simply by having an admission ticket.

Exotica has the Roaring Timber Serpent wooden roller coaster and Eagle’s Eye rotating observation platform. It is convenient to visit this area before changing into swimwear or after the water park. Individual attractions may operate subject to weather and technical restrictions.

The beach and lunch on Hòn Thơm (Hon Thom)

If you want to visit Ciao Beach, ask on entry where the buggy leaves, which sections of coast are accessible and when the return transfer ends. Do not leave your beach visit until the last minutes before your return cable car journey.

For a package lunch, find the restaurant specified on your voucher and its service hours in advance. Allow time to change after the water park; dry clothes are useful both in the restaurant and on the return journey. Check your ticket for the menu, drinks and last buffet entry.

An example of a relaxed day itinerary

Morning: arrive at opening, pass the checks and cross to the island. Immediately check the return time, then choose dry-land rides or start with the water park. Do not try to explore the whole complex and spend several hours on the beach at the same time.

Midday: lunch within the times permitted by your voucher, rest and Aquatopia, or the beach if that matters more than the slides. For a family with children, leave more time for changing, toilets and walking between areas.

Afternoon: finish your chosen activities, collect your belongings from the locker and reach the station early. After returning to Sunset Town, you can have dinner and a walk. This is an example of a sequence, not a timetable with guaranteed boarding times.

What to bring and which rules to check

Swimwear, dry spare clothes, a towel, sun protection and comfortable shoes for walking will be useful. On water slides, follow staff instructions about jewellery, watches, footwear and metal fittings. For a child, first check the height restrictions for each selected slide.

Before renting a locker, ask the price, deposit and refund procedure. Old amounts in reviews do not guarantee today’s rate. Check the conditions for bringing water, food and baby food before entering; do not hide prohibited items.

Sunset Town after returning: the bridge and two different shows

Kiss Bridge, Kiss of the Sea and Symphony of the Sea are different attractions and programmes. For the bridge, check your package’s admission entitlement and time window. For Kiss of the Sea, choose a date, session and ticket separately; taking the cable car does not itself mean you have a seat in the amphitheatre.

In Sun World’s announcement dated 14 October 2026, the return of Symphony of the Sea’s third season is scheduled for 10 November. Do not therefore plan on a guaranteed daily 17:00 show based on an old description. Check the current programme before travelling, and distinguish the large evening production from short waterfront performances.

Getting to the station

For a taxi, enter An Thới (An Thoi) Cable Car Station in Sunset Town and check the drop-off point on the map. The journey’s price and duration depend on your accommodation, traffic and the app’s fare. A fixed budget from an old review may differ from today’s Grab or Xanh SM offer.

If travelling from the north by bus, first check the current route, terminus and remaining journey to the station. Do not count on a direct free ride to the cable car based only on a VinBus number from someone else’s trip. Plan your return after an evening show separately from daytime transport.
